Year 7 & 8 Coordinator’s Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Congratulations for reaching the end of another challenging term under lockdown and remote learning.

Like most of you, towards the end of this term I started to feel optimistic about our school environment returning to normal. This term provided an eerie experience for the teachers here at Meadow Fair as we were confronted by a school totally devoid of students. As a teacher, having previously spent each day being accustomed to the noise and bustle of regular high school life, the absence of our often energetic boys was somewhat conspicuous.

At the same time, I was highly impressed by the ability of each of our students to continue adapting to a completely different way of schooling than the traditional face-to-face learning they have experienced so far. I am glad to say that our students have fully embraced both the technology and the mode of delivery for online learning to which they were only introduced in Term 2.

It was great to see our boys rise to these challenges as again, we returned to a mode of learning that placed the safety of our students and our community at the forefront. Their determination to continue to pursue academic excellence, even under these most extraordinary circumstances, truly speaks volumes about their character.

During this time it is important to remember that we are all here to support one another. Each of us is feeling the impact of this lingering crisis, and we are constantly striving to maintain a strong connection with our school community during what can, at times, feel like a very isolating experience.

Although the road ahead may be uncertain, I am confident, knowing our students, that they will again take any new challenge in their stride and seize every opportunity to excel in their studies.

I wish you and your family a safe term break.

Warm regards,
Michael Kapadia.
